Luke Hobbis is a player on the boys’ volleyball team at Costa Mesa Middle School. He plays the position of an outside hitter. He decided to play volleyball because his friends were going to join.

This is Luke’s second year playing for Mesa. “I like volleyball because my friends are on my team,” Luke says. His role model is Coach Keifer because he’s also his baseball coach. A couple of other sports that he plays outside of volleyball include baseball and basketball. Luke says, “I have no weaknesses in volleyball because I’m the best.” But his best strength is his height. According to Luke Hobbis, the most challenging part about playing volleyball is communicating with his teammates.

His jersey number is ten because he says “Messi is the goat.” His proudest moment in volleyball was when they beat their cross-town rival, TeWinkle. Luke listens to music before the game to “hype himself up.” He enjoys playing Volleyball. Luke is a very good volleyball player and also had the opportunity to be a team captain for Mesa. Luke has plans to play sports in the future, including Volleyball.
