1989, Taylor Swift’s most successful album, has made a monumental comeback.

On October 27, 2023, Taylor released her version of the 1989 album, “1989 (Taylor´s Version),” sparking interests from Swifties, and even non-Swifties.

The album was first released on October 27, 2014, and by the end of the year, was nominated for the best-selling album.

1989 TV was a big hit, and the vault songs have become especially popular. Taylor released five vault tracks along with her album, including  “Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Say Don’t Go,” and “Suburban Legends.”

“Is It Over Now?” easily became a fan favorite, and is now the most listened to vault track on 1989 TV, along with “Now That We Don’t Talk.”

“Taylor’s Version,” started when she spoke up about her experience with Big Machine Records. “For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work.”

She was given a chance to sign back to Big Machine Records, but turned them down, as she said, “I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future.”
This is when she made the choice to leave behind all the memories – the good, and bad. She would re-record all of her songs and name them, “Taylor’s Version,” and fans supported it.

“I support Taylor’s decision to re-record her albums, because now she owns her music,” seventh grader Finley Juelfs says.

Taylor soon realized that she’s had individual tours for some albums, and some, she didn’t have a tour for. She then thought, why doesn’t she just have a show with all of her albums, and call it, The Eras Tour?

So that’s exactly what she did. She announced she would have a tour that goes through all eras, in one night. Taylor’s fans were ecstatic, as well as Taylor, but she had no idea how big of a success it would be, and the history she was about to make. As of August, it was announced that the tour is the second highest-grossing tour of 2023.

Whatever is to come with Taylor Swift’s career, there’s one thing for sure. She certainly won’t be forgotten.
