Jesus Club takes place in the large gym every Friday during lunch. The advisor for Jesus Club is Mrs. Swanek, but it’s run by an outside company and a couple of students at Mesa. Lathania Barrett, a worker from the outside company, said she “wants to work with teenagers because she met Jesus at a youth group when she was a teenager.” The outside company comes to the gym and talks about everything relevant to Jesus. They also provide pizza for the students who come to the club, but serve it after they discuss with students.
Students who answer questions related to the Bible or Jesus. Lathania Barrett said, “I like to play games with the students because I can get to know them better.” Jesus club also provides many benefits. For example, you get time to engage with one other. It also gives you time to participate because of the variety of different activities that they provide. They have many social media accounts including Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. The Jesus Club website said, “You may have had a hundred excuses and fears that stopped you from reaching your school in the past, but it’s time to put all that aside because God made you for this.” The Jesus club is a place for students to come together to learn and praise God.
