Kindness Club is a friendly and welcoming club open to anyone who wants to join. Ms. Camarena runs the Kindness Club. The club is open to High School and Middle School students and takes place every Thursday at lunchtime. Kindness Club was created last year with the intention of creating a safe and caring campus. Their mission is to “unite students and create a positive environment that the entire school can benefit from by spreading random acts of kindness each month.” They’re halfway done with their goal and have done a lot since they first started.
Twice a month, they nominate someone on campus who deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond to spread positivity and kindness. This person receives a small gift, like chocolates or candy, as well as a shoutout on the club’s Instagram page. Their plans for the future are to spread positivity and kindness on and around the campus. Kindness Club participated in Spread the Love Week by setting up a Kindness Gram Booth, where students made notes and had candy delivered to their friends’ 4th-period class for free.
