Every four years, the United States has an election where they vote for a new president, secretary, vice president, and more. At Costa Mesa Middle, we have elections like this yearly. Contestants running for office create speeches and put up posters, trying to convince the student body to vote for them and choose them out of the others. Students voted for the ASB cabinet on April 19, 2024.
Students running for Freshmen President included Jackson Gregory and Emma Ochoa. Both of them made videos to persuade the voters to choose them. In the end, Jackson Gregory was the winner. The current 8th grade president, Tolby Trieu, will no longer be a part of the middle school ASB cabinet, as he is going to run for freshmen vice president. We have interviewed Jackson Gregory, and asked multiple questions. Gregory stated that while running for class president, he wanted to go for power, but also to help out his community. He said he hopes to make school a more fun place and even aims to get vending machines added to the school. If everything goes well, Jackson will run for sophomore president next year. Jackson was confident that he was going to win this election and was delighted to find out that he did in fact win. People also voted for ambassador president, secretary, and vice president. Congrats to our winners:
