Summer is coming in 1 month, and if you’re planning on staying home this summer, here are some things to do. One of the many options is the beach. At the closest beach, Newport Beach, you can swim with your friends, tan, and even shop at the nearby stores. The beach has many places to eat such as Chipotle, Taco Bell, Banzai Bowl, El Ranchito, and more. You can get a sweet treat afterward at Handel’s.

Bike rides are another good way to stay active and get out in the sun. Not only can you go swimming at the beach, but you can follow the bike trails along the houses. You can find more trails at Back Bay in Costa Mesa.

On July 19–August 18, the OC fair is open. The OC fair has unique food, fun rides, carnival games, live animals, plants, etc. Entry in to the fair is free, but the rides cost tickets, or you have to buy a wristband.

If you enjoy going on rides, another great option is Knott’s Berry Farm. The drive is not too far, and Knott’s is always open. There are seasonal passes and apart from Knott’s Berry Farm is Soak City. Soak City is a water park offering 23 different waterslides. The prices for both Knott’s Berry Farm and Soak City can range from $40 to $60.

Another way to get out of the house and hang out with friends is at the Irvine Spectrum, or Fashion Island. You can go shopping, walk around, or eat food with your friends or family. There are more fun options at the Spectrum, if you don’t enjoy shopping, like Dave & Busters, Odyssey VR, the Hello Kitty Cafe, and more.

These are just some of the many activities you can do during your summer break. Other than what we have mentioned, there is a variety of things to do just outside our city; indoors, and outdoors.
